An amateurish recorded video clip that has gone viral since  Friday evening and mostly in circulation amongst some citizens in parts of Niger State depicting footage of a mob action against Governor Abubakar Sani Bello is a manipulated graphic work and evil machinations of enemies, according to the Governor.

Spokesman of the Governor, Jibrin Baba Ndace said the video clip and the message it seeks to portray are not only untrue but imaginary contraptions by  wickedly oriented persons who are not happy with the progress recorded by the administration of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello in the state in such a short span of time.

The video footage shows a mob attack on a person which is said to be the Governor. The scene according to the video was recorded during one of the recent outings of the Governor in one of the local government areas of the state.

Though a poor recording, the video shows the crowd booing and pelting pebbles and other missiles at their target and hauling invectives at him.

Governor Bello had earlier last month embarked on tour of local government councils of the state which members of the opposition said was a veiled campaign to woo a disenchanted electorate across the state midway into the first tenure of the administration.

In the statement issued by Ndace, he confirmed that there was a malicious video clip circulating in the state via an unknown online source which claims that the state Governor was pelted with stones by angry youths at an unnamed place.

The statement said the video clip is a hoax and handiwork of enemies. “At no time or place was Mr. Governor assaulted, booed or insulted by anybody”. The statement said.

“The video clip is a malicious graphic contraption by callous and mischivious minds who are out to discredit the Governor and his integrity” the statement added.

While condemning it as one of the tricks by reckless social media platforms, the Governor’s spokesperson said the architects behind the video clip were “social insurgents who are merchants of destruction”.

The statement noted that Governor Bello has since May 2015 warmed himself into the hearts of the citizens across the state as he is loved and respected by all and sundry across the state because of his “unique style of interacting with the citizens without let or barrier”.

The statement said the said video clip must have been a mischievous manipulation of what transpired at the May 29th, 2015 swearing in ceremony marking the change of guards between the former Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu and the then incoming administration of Abubakar Sani Bello at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna which is the only instance of such mob action in the last two years.

It accused the vendors of such video clips as faceless persons who are out to pursue an undisclosed agenda by generating unnecessary tension and capitalising on it.
