First Civilian Governor Of Adamawa Dies At 77

The First Civilian Governor of Adamawa State, Alhaji Abubakar Saleh
Michika has joined his ancestors.
This was contained in a  press statement issued by the  family  in
Yola on Sunday.
According to the release,  Michika died at the Federal Medical
Centre, FMC Yola after a protracted illness on Saturday evening at
around 7:25pm.
It stated further that, the former governor was born in 1941 and died
at the age of 77.
Michika was married to four wives with 38 children (17 Male and 21
Female),99 grand children and three great grand children.
Late Governor Saleh Michika governed Adamawa State from 1992 to
November 1993 under the National Republican Convention (NRC).
Reacting to the development,.Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow
described him as a peace loving personality.
Jibrilla said his demise is a national loss due to his international repute.
Late Michika was  buried on Sunday  in Yola according to Islamic rites.
