Financial Inclusion: Bizi Mobile Partners CBN To Open Bank Accounts For 270,000 Nigerians

Following the discovery by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) that there is still about 65 per cent of the population in Nigeria that  don’t have bank accounts, foremost mobile banking agency in Northern Nigeria, Bizi Mobile Cashless Consultants has within a spate of one month, successfully opened bank accounts for not fewer than 270,000 customers, with 2,700 Nigerians who had never operated bank accounts prior to that opened within the last month.
Chairman/CEO of the comoany, Alhaji Aminu Bizi disclosed this while presenting the comprehensive names of the 2,700 accounts to the representative of the Central Bank of Nigeria  (CBN), Abubakar Gada, in Kano on Wednesday.
“My company has gone far towards easing the burden saddled on it by the CBN in terms of enlightenment and sensitizing of Nigerian citizens on the need to open bank accounts,” he said.
The need of financial inclusion according to him, led CBN to constitute  Financial Inclusion Steering Committee, with view to find ways of enligtening and sensitizing Nigerians on the importance of having bank accounts so that they can enjoy the benefits of modern cashless transactions.
“Interestingly, Bizi Mobile Cashless Consultant Limited, major cashless firm in the Northern part, is one of the cashless firms that were selected by the CBN to champion this crusade,  we are proud to announce that the firm recently signed  Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with some banks especially Eco Bank and Unity Bank, to enlighten and sensitize Nigerians across the country particularly in the Northern region,” he added.
Alhaji Aminu Bizi was optimistic that in the next few months God willing, his company will open about 100,000 accounts for Nigerians across the
country.
The Chairman then urged small and medium as well as, giant business enterprises in the country, particularly in the Northern part, to support this initiative of CBN for it to succeed among its counterparts in the world.
In his remarks, the representative of CBN, Abubakar Gada, expressed happiness on the efforts and commitment of Bizi Mobile Cashless Consultants towards achieving the success of the initiative.
Abubakar then appealed to the teeming Nigerians to also support the initiative so that Nigeria would be able to run shoulder-to-shoulder with its counterparts in the world.
Also speaking, Alhaji Mukhtar Umar Munjibir, who doubles as one of the members of the Financial Inclusion Steering Committee as well as an
Overseer Director of NGs Account in Kano State, said,” this is the only way that will ease business activities especially amongst small and médium enterprises that don’t have bank accounts.”
He rated  Bizi Mobile high in terms of its doggedness towards bringing positive development and its philanthropic gestures in Kano State, saying the gestures, have made the company popular, particularly in the Northern region.
