Fight To Defeat Corruption Intensified, Monguno Says As 183 EFCC Operatives Pass Out

With the passing out of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from EFCC Detective Course 4, the fight to defeat corruption and ensure Nigeria’s future has been intensified.
Reviewing Officer of the POP, General Babagana Monguno (rtd) expressed this at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) on Friday.
“War against corruption has been strengthened today with the passing out of these trainees.
“The fight ahead is for the survival of Nigeria’s future. It was the desire to develop virtues of love for the fatherland which was inculcated in you. You must be fearless fighters who would show no mercy to all who seek to destroy our country through corruption,” he said.
He said that with advent of President Buhari-led FG, the fight against corruption took a serious approach as a result of his political will to fight corruption. As you join in the fight, be aware that you have a reputation to keep.
“The war against corruption by the EFCC headed by Ibrahim Magu, is a war that we must all win,” he added.

The Reviewing Officer, who is the National Security Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari said that the group of trainees is the longest trained group in the hidtory of EFCC trainees, by spending 13 months..

He congratulated parents and guardians of the trainees, while reminding the trainees that the journey has just started.
In an interview with newsmen after the POP, EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu said that the new EFCC personnel will be monitored to ensure they don’t betray the commission.
On his reaction on allegations that the commission’s fight  was one sided, he described it as untrue.
He said that the commission remains focused on fighting corruption, no matter who was involved or how highly placed the individual might be.
A total if 206 trainees reported for the training on December 11, 2016, but some could not cope and 183 passed out on Friday, January 19, 2018.
Four trainees received awards as follows; Trainee O. Okpara emerged Best Overall Cadet, first runner-up went to Trainee E.W. Abili, second runner-up went to M.O. Adeyeye, while Executive Chairman’s Award for Command and Leadership went to Trainee C.N  Ekeka.
