The Kano State women leader of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Hajiya Sidiya Fatima Sherif Gambo Yako has called on the three tiers of government to give more consideration to the Nigerian women farmers who are now becoming more active in various agricultural productions across the nation.

She made the call in an interview with our correspondent in Kano, adding that Nigerian women had already gone into active farming and livestock rearing as well as fishery, but most of them are not benefiting from government’s assistance that may enable them to multiply their production despite the present administration’s efforts towards agricultural progress at all levels.

Hajiya Sidiya Fatima Gambo disclosed that the women wing of the all farmers association was working very seriously to ensure that Kano women farmers also benefit from all aspects of government’s provisions that are given to the farmers through different clusters in order to fully participate in mass food production programme for national growth through agriculture.

She commended the present administration for initiating many important programmes that are beneficial to the Nigerian farmers at both rural and urban catchments, and thanked the federal ministry of agriculture and other financial institutions that are directly related to the agricultural development for being a ladder of progress at dry and rainfes seasons.

Hajiya Sidiya Gambo Yako advises Nigerian farmers to use any assistance they obtained from government to boost their agricultural production.

She hailed Governor Abdullahi Ganduje for the role he is playing in agricultural development in Kano State.
