The Chairman, Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ondo State, Chief Dayo Duyile has attributed the continuous visit of cattle rearers to the farm of Chief Olu Falae as a price for his position on restructuring.
Chief Duyile who made the remark during an exclusive chat with New Nigerian in Akure observed that those who are opposed to the restructuring of the country might be responsible to the incessant attacks.
According to him, knowing full well that Chief Falae is one of the major advocates of restructuring, he said “they only want to chicken him with their usual attacks”.
He how ever condemned the recent burning of the farm of the former Minister of Finance, Chief Falae after uprooting and looting of his crops during their previous visit.
His words, “Chief False is a man of many parts, he is traditional ruler of a town in Akure North Local Government, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, a former Minister of Finance. There is no way a man of that caliber will not attract both positive and negative attentions to himself”.
Chief Falae, he said has many friends and foes with their various hidden agendas, confronting him from various angles for being a successful farmer, a former Presidential candidate in 1999, even though he won the election but for the simple fact that the power that be needed a military man to rule.
He expressed much concern at the fact that ” no one care to know what happens to him, but the nation is intersected in what he says”.
His land, he said, is strategically situated and suitable for cattle rearers, adding that, they are highly mischievous since his exposure to government has opened him up to various oppositions.
He however commended Chief Ayo Adebanjo who as a Lawyer has been out spoken by condemning the usual attack on Chief Falae’s personality and property, saying, “we do pray they should not succeed”.
