An All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives aspirant for Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Enginer Akinbola Fatiregun on Saturday advocated that security be beefed up in and around the Federal constituency.
Engineer Fatiregun made the call in a press release made available to journalists in Ijebu-Jesa last night. following the last week attack by some hoodlums who kidnapped and even killed some members of staff of Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke.
The APC House of Representatives aspirant stressed that in doing this,
there is the urgent need for a synergy of all forces in the security to beef up the much needed security all over the constituency.
“As a people, we should come together at this trying times and give all necessary assistance to security operatives that could help us get rid of such miscreants in our midst,” he said
Engineer Fatiregun maintained that he had personally reached out to the leadership of the police authorities in the state, and that the police authorities have also re-echoed their commitment to smashing criminal gangs across the state and making the state a safe haven for all peace-loving people and making it hell for ambitious troublemakers.
The House of Representatives aspirant then lauded the leadership of Oriade and Obokun Local Government Areas for their swift response and support for security operatives in the matter stressing that such acts must be nipped in the bud by the collective strong will of our people, saying, “on this note, all sons and daughters of Oriade LGA both at home and in the Diaspora are urged to come together at this trying period with a view to stopping this unnecessary carnage.”
“It is my earnest prayers that God Almighty grants the family of the souls departed fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss. As the good people of Oriade LGA have triumphed against the forces of evil, we praise God that those that were in the den of the kidnappers have regained their freedom. I rejoice with our people for this victory. I salute the courage of our traditional leaders especially the Owamiran of Esa-Oke and the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa for standing shoulder to shoulder with security operatives and civil authorities while the siege against our people lasted.”
Engineer Fatiregun added, “the sleepless nights endured by our proactive LG Chairman Hon. Bunmi Obeisun should be commended by all our people both at home and abroad. The sacrifices and patriotic gestures of our vigilante groups, hunters and the entire citizenry will never go unnoticed. We have emerged stronger as a people. My prayer is that such evil shall never befall us again.”
