Enyimba FC of Aba is in a dilemma as it is yet to secure a home venue for its matches, barely three days to the start of the 2018 NPFL season, the New Nigerian Online Sports has revealed.
The Aba side had played its home matches in the U.J.Esuene Stadium, Calabar  last season and is yet to renegotiate with the management of the Sports commission.
Our investigation further revealed that the chairman of the club Prince Emeka Anayansi had remained incommunicado.
Confirming the story, some players and officials who confided in our
Correspondent said “the team is yet to secure a turf expected to be
their home ground”.
It would be recalled Enyimba home ground is undergoing rehabilitation in the past three football seasons and is yet to be commissioned.
The club side underwent pre-season camping at Akure and later returned to Calabar. Since then, it has been alternating training pitches  to the detriment  of the technical crew and especially the newly signed players.
Meanwhile, Enyimba is expecting CAF Stadia Inspectors ahead of its Confederation Cup engagements from February is further engrossed as to which venue to flaunt when the delegation arrives Nigeria for the mandatory task.
Reliably, close sources to the club side have expressed worry that overtures for the team to train or host friendly matches on the  U. J. Esuene pitches were rebuffed by the proprietors of the facility.
Speaking earlier, the chairman of the  Cross River State Sports Commission, chief Orok Duke  alluded that the Aba side are in Calabar on their own as ” we are not aware that they intend to use our facilities at the Stadium as they did last year plus the CAF Cup”.    ‘
“‘You are aware of the whole hearted  support we gave them such that they qualified for the CAF Cup Championship. Respect is reciprocal and should be upheld as a norm in life, the Chairman said”.
”Please ask them if they have any obligation with us as far as the NPFL which begins in the weekend is concerned.
Efforts to contact the chairman of the Enyimba Management Committee, Prince  Emeka Anyansi, has failed as has refused picking up his calls after several attempts.
Enyimba is playing  away to Lobi Stars of Makurdi in the first Week fixtures of the NPFL.
