Enhance power; Kaduna Electric collaborates with NDPHCN

The Management of Kaduna Electric, the operator of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company has advocated for more collaboration among the major stakeholders in the power industry, especially between distribution companies and the Niger Delta Power Holding Company of Nigeria (NDPHCN), the operator of the National Integrated Power Projects, NIPP for enhance power supply.
The Chief Engineering and Technical Services Officer of Kaduna Electric, Engineer Bello A Musa while addressing newsmen in his office in Kaduna disclosed that the intervention projects executed by the NDPHCN in its franchise area have impacted positively in the operation of the company.
He revealed, “the NDPHCN projects yet to be commissioned includes the 7.5MVA injection sub-stations in Birnin Gwari and Saminaka in Kaduna State as well as the 7.5MVA injection sub-station at Rinjin Sambo in Sokoto, promising that the substations will be commissioned as soon as they are handed over to the Company by the authority of NDPHCN.”
He also announced that Kaduna Electric has made enormous investment in both power infrastructure and human capital since taken over the company ten months ago. “The Company has installed two 7.5MVA 33/11KV power transformers in Saminaka and Zonkwa in Kaduna State after taken over while installation of another power transformer in Argungu, Kebbi State has reached advance stage,” he stated.
Engineer Bello Musa called for the involvement of the benefiting distribution company right from project conceptualization to design and execution. According to him, “the benefits of such inventions can be better derived if the distribution companies are involved in the project design through execution.”
