The Kaduna State Commissioner of Youth, Sports and Culture, Honourable Daniel Danauta has charged corporate organisations and wealthy individuals to emulate the President, Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod in the development of sports in the grassroots.
Honourable Danauta made the appeal, while speaking as the special guest of honour, at the closing ceremony of the second edition of Engineer Musa Nimrod Community Peace and Unity Soccer Competition on Sunday March 11, at the Kaduna Township Stadium.
“I want to implore others to borrow a leaf and emulate Engineer Musa Nimrod in sports sponsorship.
“If only I can describe him as a growing Octopus in sports because he has his hands and legs in all sports,” he added.
The commissioner commended him for his commitment and patriotism and the love he has continued to display.
“I applaud the commitment, patriotism and the love Engineer Nimrod has continued to display in not only sponsorship, but in the continuous survival and growth of sports in Nigeria and especially in Kaduna State,” he said.
He also commended the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) for excellent organisation of the competition.
