Emir of Zazzau to NSCDC: consolidate on your past performance

The Emir of Zazzau and Chairman Kaduna State Council of emirs and Chiefs,
Alhaji Shehu Idris, has charged Kaduna State Command,
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), to build on their enviable records of discharging their civic responsibility effectively towards sustaining peace and security in the state.
The Emir asserted that the Corps has performed appreciably in anti-vandalism drive, specifically in protecting critical infrastructure and national assets, disaster management and crowd control among other things.
Speaking while receiving the state commandant of the Corps, Alhaji Modu Bunu, the Emir requested that more personnel be deployed to the Emirate to assist in maintaining law and order, assuring the Corps of cooperation from the emirate.
Responding, Commandant Bunu promised to maintain a cordial working relationship with the traditional institution especially Zazzau Emirate council noting that the command had received different forms of assistance from the emirate.
He thanked the Emir for donating a vehicle to Zaria Division of the corps in August this year, adding that such support would spur personnel of the Corps to perform optimally.
Bunu remarked that the familiarization visit to the Emir’s Palace which preceded his visits to the Commissioner of Police and Comptroller of Immigration was to enable the command succeed in the task expected of the corps.
He pledged to sustain the synergy between NSCDC and other security agencies, cautioning that rivalry and acrimony are counter-productive which must be avoided.
Bunu, who took the mantle of leadership as Commandant of NSCDC Kaduna State Command following the redeployment of his predecessor to the National Defence College, Abuja is to continue with familiarization to all heads of security agencies in the state and other stakeholders.
