Emir of Zazzau promises to mobilise support for the revival of NNN

The Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris has promised to mobilise support for the revival of the New Nigerian Newspapers (NNN), Kaduna.
He made the promised in his palace when the executives of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), NNN Chapel led by the Chairman, Abdull-Azeez Ahmed Kadir paid him a courtesy call in Zaria.
The Emir said the media is the major source of information and enlightment for the people, hence media practitioners must uphold the tenets of fairness, justice, balance and objectivity.
He applauded the role the new executives played that saw to the amicable resolution of the 31 months old strike and resumption of work in the company.
Earlier, NUJ NNN Chapel Chairman, Abdull-Azeez Ahmed Kadir intimated the Emir on the progress made since the suspension of the strike, especially the introduction of the on-line edition. He also sought the Emirs support on the Union efforts to bring back the lost glory of the company.
Abdull-Azeez condoled with the Emir over the death of the Ciroman Zazzau and other subjects of the Emir. He also congratulated the Emir on his appointment as the new Chancellor of the University of Abuja.
