Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai, of Kaduna state, on Thursday described traditional rulers as pillars of peace and development of the country.
The Governor made the remark in a message to the 43rd Anniversary of the Emir of Zazzau Dr shehu Idris on the throne in Zaria.
He noted their positive role in preventing conflicts and resolution in their community, as well as the country.
He urged people who have not registered to come out in mass and registered as voters registrations is on to enable them vote candidates of their choice.
He expressed the 43rd Zazzau throne as a long serving Emir in Fulani dynamic and of Kaduna traditional council of Emirs and Chiefs.
The Deputy Governor, Architect Barnabas Yusuf Bala Bantex and other Senior Government officials are in Zaria for a special prayer session to mark the 43rd Anniversary of the Emir of Zazzau, HRH, Alhaji Shehu Idris on the throne.
He prayed Allah SWT bless the Emir and grant him long life in good health.
In a remark, the Emir of Zazzau, HRH, Alhaji Shehu Idris, said his success in 43rd Zazzau throne based on Allah protection and contribution of the emirates.
He urged the people to come out and registered, and embraced peace in their communities.
He thank the Governor, Nasir Ahmad ElRufai and state government officials for their support and prayers towards the success of the anniversary.
In a related development, Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, visited Barewa College, Zaria his former School, to inspects some projects.
The Governor Nasir Ahmad ElRufai and Deputy Governor Architect Barnabas Bala Bantex and government officials were taken round to inspect the projects in the school premises.
