The Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II, has called on the Kashim Ibrahim Fellows to receive leadership lessons on the challenges of leadership and tenacity.
The Emir, shared leadership qualities with the Kashim Ibrahim Fellows at the Government House, in Kaduna.
Sanusi drew from his experiences as the CBN Governor from 2009-2014, and the resistance faced in restructuring and reforming the banking sector.
Sanusi outlined the principles of public trust, building a team, running a transparent system and process as well as standing up for your team members as some of the qualities a good leader must cultivate in the public sector.
The Emir, urged them to have public trust as they need legitimacy, “to have legitimacy, the public needs to know that you are acting on the public interest,” he adviced.
The speaker series, which held in Government House, Kaduna, had in attendance, Governor Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai, his deputy, Architect Barnabas Bala Bantex, the Sixteen Fellows of KIF and other government officials
He’s the fourth speaker to address the 16 fellows in the Speaker Series Session of their one-year leadership training programme.
