As part of its urban infrastructural renewal project, the Governor Nasir el-Rufai-led Kaduna State Government has embarked on construction of township roads in several communities in the state.
Permanent Secretary, Kaduna State Ministry if Works, Murtala Dabo expressed this while fielding questions from newsmen who are on tour of government projects.
He said that in Tudun Wada 20km township roads covering over 50 streets are at various stages of completion and are expected to be completed by June ending.
“It is part of Malam Nasir el-Rufai urban renewal projects and bridging urban infrastructural gap,” he said.
Dabo explained that the projects are being constructed on a retainership contract handled by Rock Bridge.
“They are handling 20 Km here in Tudun Wada and over 30 km of road projects in Kajuru Local Government Area,” he added.
Also in Kaduna South LGA, a total of 11.6km of roads are being constructed in Ungwan Sanusi.
A visit to the 250 metres road in Ungwan Sanusi, which is being handled by Sky Technical Services has reached advanced stages.
“Here the drainage works ongoing on Water Board Road, Ungwan Sanusi.
“Our target was to finish before rains. We are behind schedules, between now and June, they are to be completed,” he assured.
