Kaduna State Government, led by Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai has created ways of engaging the youth in the state as part of its contribution to making them self reliant and reducing the rate of unemployment in the state.
The Executive Secretary, Mrs. Umma Aboki on Monday led KADIPA officials on a visit to FaLRice, a rice mill, located at No 3, Kachia Road, Kaduna.
According to her, FaLRice began operations February last year and has since been processing 100 tones of rice daily, even on Saturdays and Sundays.
She said, the mill currently employs over 30 people. Multiplier effect, however, creates several hundreds of indirect jobs.
The mill is looking to expand and has been in talks with some foreign partners. The mill has no troubles in terms of security or electricity.
Their current challenge is getting local farmers to accept new ways of farming.
The Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA), FaLRice is sold for N13,500 and can be bought at Sahad Stores in Abuja, Kaduna Central Market and markets in Eastern Nigeria.
