Ekiti Polls: Group Cautions INEC Against Rigging

A non political group mainly of elders in Ekiti State known as Igbimo Ure Ekiti (IUE),has cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)  to be neutral and diligent in the conduct of the upcoming governorship election in the State. 

The group cautioned the electoral body against what it calls the saga of the 2014 election in the State, alleging that soldiers were involved to manipulate the process.                                                                                                In a statement signed by the    group’s President,Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi and its Secretary,Sir Remi Omotoso, IUE sought transparency from the electoral body.                                                                                                     IUE which has members dawn from Nigeria and diaspora warns political parities to shun violence which characterise previous elections thereby tarnishing the State’s image.
The group warned traditional rulers and youths against complicity in rigging  and other activities that could mar the exercise.
