Ekiti APC Governorship Primaries Postponed Indefinitely Over Violence, Sporadic Shooting

The conduct of the All Progressives Congress(APC) Governorship primaries held at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti,the Ekiti state capital on Saturday was suspended indefinitely as a result of violence that marred the exercise.
Some aggrieved party members alleged compromise of the exercise by the agents of one of the aspirants,Dr. Kayode Fayemi and the Security agents as well.
However,there were sporadic shootings by security agents to calm the disruption of the exercise ‎by hoodlums. 
Initially,heavy downpour also affected the voting stage scheduled for 12:00 pm till 3:00 pm.
Some of the aggrieved party members alleged that the agents of one of the Governorship aspirants,Dr. Kayode Fayemi ‎were writing down the serial number of the ballot papers used by the delegates which they regarded to be a fraud.

The exercise which could have produced the party’s Gubernatorial candidate for the July 14 Gubernatorial election in the state due to the ugly development was brought to an abrupt end.
‎While 33  Governorship aspirants were billed to participate in the botched primary with 2,409 accredited delegates already on ground for the exercise.
‎Meanwhile,the Chairman of the five-man committee for the conduct of the primaries,Governor Tanko Almakura of Nasarawa state called the Governorship aspirants into an urgent meeting and left the environment without leaving a word for the press.
