Drug War: NDLEA Impounds Vehicles Loaded With Hard Drugs In Adamawa

The Adamawa Command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA has impounded two vehicles loaded with hard drugs in the state.
The state Commander of the agency, Mr. Yakubu Kibo, said at a news briefing in Yola that the drug total 70.653kg.
According to him, drug dealers in the state have adopted sophisticated mode of concealment.
“The team of NDLEA operatives  intercepted a red Toyota Starlet  on its way to Chigari  Village in Gurin on 23/11/2016  for a search, the search led to the discovery of Cannabis Sativa 9.2kg, Tramadol 8.4kg, Diazepam tablets 453gm,Exol-5 tablet 200gm, all totaling 18.253kg”, Kibo said.
Similarly, on the 25/11/2016, a two door ash colored Toyota Corolla with registration number JMT177TH coming from Taraba state loaded with passengers was intercepted for search, NDLEA officials noticed that the doors of the car were abnormally heavy when they were being opened and closed.
“The driver was ordered to remove the door mat, when this was done,  the door compartment were found stuffed with bottles of cough syrup with codeine, this led to a comprehensive search of the car and more bottles of cough syrup with codeine were discovered”, the Commander stated.
Kibo told pressmen that even the spare tyre of the car was stuffed with cough syrup with codeine, 840 bottles were discovered weighing 62.4kg.
The commander observed that cough syrup with codeine is one of the leading drug of abuse in the state.
While cautioning the people of the state on the dangers of drug abuse, Kibo called upon all and sundry to put all hands on deck and say no to drug abuse.
