Driver Escapes Lynching After Injuring Baby As Car Crashes Into Commercial Stalls

A Toyota Corolla Car with Registration number BDG 730 BM at about 6pm on Saturday December 16 on high speed rammed into commercial shops, crushed and seriously injured a one-year old baby along Otomi Street near Lee Oasis Shopping Centre in Okumagba Layout Warri, Delta State.
NewNigerian Newspapers gathered that the driver of the car a frayed old man simply identified as Sido was quickly whisked away from the area so that mob doesn’t lynch him.
The cause of the accident could not be ascertained as at the time of the report but some residents around said the old man was on high speed near his abode when he lost control of the vehicle and veered into the shops.
Another group said the old may have been drunk before he took over the steering, but findings revealed that the accident may have been caused due to the old man’s short sightedness.
As at the time newsmen arrived the scene of incident, the one-year old baby had been rushed to a private hospital in the area while a pregnant woman simply identified as Patience who is also the mother of the baby and her neighbour who survived the incident were crying with blood stains on their bodies.
The family of the victim is seriously praying for the survival of their child whose head was gushing out blood.
