The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has sanctioned eight filling stations in Kano for selling fuel higher than the regulated government price of N145 per litre.
This was disclosed by the acting operation controller, Mr. Paul Jhezi while briefing newsmen in Kano, stressing that the department has so far visited over 166 filling stations in order  to see how they operate while his men embarked on strict monitoring of filling stations all over the state to ensure that all is well on fuel price.
He also commended NNPC Kano Depot for increasing the number of trucks for Kano from 24 to 44 daily which is a very good strategy of tackling the issue of fuel scarcity in the state.
Speaking further, he called on the general public to inform the department whenever they notice any irregularities at  filling stations in order to take  necessary actions against violators.
