In view of the security challenges faced in the North Eastern part of the country, journalist have been urged to be dogged in doing their work.
Professor Danjuma Gambo, University of Maiduguri gave the charge Wednesday, during a two day training of journalists on Health Reporting during Emergencies organised by the World Health Organisation (WHO), in Yola the Adamawa state capital
According to him, journalist in the North East should prepare their mind, not to allow anything stop them from doing their work.
Gambo in his presentation ” Health Reporting from a Development Communication Perspective” said development communication is the use of communication to facilitate social development.
” Development communication is linked to the transition of communities from poverty in all its forms to a dynamic, overall growth that foster equality and the unfolding individual potential” , He stated
The communication expert told participants at the two day training to be tools for national development and integration.
He told the North East journalists to be agents of change, that will change the narrative of the region and bring about social and economic improvement.
Gambo made a passionate appealed to participants to have a new understanding of issues, pay attention to reporting ideas, policies, programs and events dealing with the improvement of the life/ lives of people.
