Speaker Yakubu Dogara’s Special Adviser on Special Duties has announced his departure from the All Progressives Congress (APC) via a letter to the Chairman of his Badarawa/Malali ward of Kaduna North Federal Constituency.
Usman Bawa popularly known as ABG said his decision to leave the ruling party had become imperative to enable him pursue other course of life.
The former Federal lawmaker who represented Kaduna North Federal Constituency from 2011 to 2015 on the platform of CPC which later with coalition of other parties formed the APC expressed his gratitude to the party”s executives and supporters of APC at his constituency who supported him while he was their representative.
However, an aide to Usman Bawa, Hon. Zubairu Shan’una said his boss’ decision to leave APC was necessitated mainly by the gross injustice done against the long time member of the party who had contributed immensely both in material and moral capacities to make the party what it is today.
“Can you imagine that core-members of the party in kaduna State have been sidelined because they have been critical of the state government’s unpopular and anti-masses policies which have gone contrary to core-values on which the APC had been founded.
“I can confidently tell you that Hon ABG has left the party with his teeming supporters who cut across different strata among people of kaduna State particularly, kaduna North which is the highest populated local government in the state. It is going to be a big blow for the party especially in it’s preparation towards 2019 elections which is good to be hard ball to play”, Shawna.
Cross section of ABG supporters who spoke to this medium expressed shock and disbelief on the development.
Yusuf Sarki, a support of APC in kaduna North said credible individuals who would have been useful for the party in the forthcoming 2019 election were forced to leave the party which according to him would augur well for the party in it’s election battle towards the 2019 elections.
Sarki called on stakeholders of the APC to intervene and initiate true and genuine reconciliation that would bring back strong party members before it would be too late for the party.
