Zamfara State Governor, Alhaji Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar has said that the Zamfara G8 governorship aspirants are not a threat despite the adoption of direct primaries to elect gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Yari who was speaking during a grand rally in support of his anointed gubernatorial aspirant, Alhaji Mukthar Shehu Idris and President Buhari’s reelection bid said the G8 are mere sympathy seekers who have done anything to worth being elected to govern the state.
The governor said the direct primaries will serve as an avenue to send the G8 into political oblivion and permanent retirement.
“Direct primaries is a good as it will ensure the victory of Mukthar Shehu Idris who is the choice of the people and anointed by me as the party leader in Zamfara state”, he said.
He described the G8 aspirants as selfish politicians who have no any concern for the development of Zamfara State.
“Since the beginning of the security challenges in the state how many of them ever boarded to do anything to support the people or bring and end to the loss of lives and property but now because of politics they are now claiming to be concern citizens of the state.
The chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Lawal Muhammad Liman said the party is set for the direct primaries and therefore called on the members of the party to vote for the aspirant anointed by the governor and endorsed by the party.
The grand rally was organised for the success of the governor Yari anointed gubernatorial aspirant, Mukhtar Shehu Idris during the Saturday direct primary in Zamfara State.
