The Catholic Archbishop of Owerri Arch Diocese, His Grace Most Rev. Anthony Obinna, has advised Nigerians to cultivate the culture of using dialogue to resolve issues rather than using violence.
Releasing his Esther message to Nigerians, in Owerri, Imo State, capital, Tuesday afternoon, the prelate believed that dialogue is the most peaceful and better way to resolve whatever issue.
He urged Nigerians, to always tolerate and imbibe the spirit of forgiveness, pointing out, that without the spirit of forgiveness and tolerance, reconciliation and peace cannot be achieved.
On the fast held governorship election, he revealed that he plainly told the outgoing governor’s son-in-law, Mr Uche Nwosu, when he came to him, for prayers, that he, prelate, would not support his ambition
to become the next governor of Imo state.
According to him, he told the Action Alliance Governorship candidate,
Mr. Uche Nwosu, that supporting his ambition would amount to giving
the out going governor Okorocha third term.
He insisted that governor Okorocha does not deserve such opportunity
because he plunged Imo people into untold hardship during his eight
year administration the state.
The prelate however urged Nigerians to continuously pray for their
leaders and exercise patience with the country’s leaders, hoping that
some day Nigeria will find here feet as it took Britain more than a
century to find her feet.
