Deposition: Suspected Thugs Attack Baale, wife, brothet …Hospitalised

The embattled Baale of Olode in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, Chief Lukman Ilufemiloye Alao is now being hospitalised after he was reportedly attacked and beaten by suspected thugs.
Already, two of the suspected thugs have been arraigned and granted bail by an Oyo state Magistrate court sitting in Ibadan over the attack on Chief Alao.
Chief Alao while narrating his ordeal to newsmen at Adeoyo Medical hospital, Yemetu, Ibadan, where he is receiving treatment, said the thugs attacked him in Olode town when went to paste an injunction he got from the court to inform the people of the town of the impending suit challenging his removal.
He stressed that his wife, Rashidat Alao and younger brother that were with him during the said attack were mercilessly beaten while his Lexus jeep (Rx 330) was vandalised and badly damaged with stone, and that the N150, 000 cash with him was stolen from him with other material such as gold necklace, wristwatch, gold ring and his shoes, all valued at hundreds of thousand naira.
According to him, the thugs with about 70 motorcycles carrying at least 3 thugs each reportedly pounced on him, his wife and his younger brother, saying, the thugs ran after him from the community immediately they saw his car close to the market, giving him a hot chase with motorcylces but that he was eventually caught when his car suddenly stopped working as a result of the roughness of the road couple with the hasty way he drove.
“I had gone to the community, where I reside to paste a court injunction I got challenging my illegal removal as Baale when the thugs started chasing my car. They started the chase from Fatusi but my car broke down as a result of the roughness of the road couple with the haste I drove. We were beaten but because I was the target, I was heavily beaten. My car was damaged, the N150,000 cash in my pocket was stolen. My gold necklace, ring and wristwatch were also stolen”he said.
The deposed Baale stated further “I was thereafter rushed to the Olubadan palace to show the king what they had done to me before I was eventually taken to the hospital”.
Chief Alao insisted that his removal was illegal because he was never informed, called or even showed any evidence or petition written against him before the news filtered around town, saying,“”Although, I would be willing to abide by whatever decision or judgment of the court, but I have decided to challenge my removal in the court to prove that if indeed there are evidences of wrong doings against me, I would have been summoned to the palace, stripped of my title and my certificate of title conferment withdrawn from me, but that was not to be”.
The two suspected thugs Odeyemi Abdulwasiu, 47 and Musibau Lawal, 47 were arraigned on a four-count charge of conspiracy to commit felony to wit; assault occasioning harm  and granted bail.
