Luck ran against a middle aged man at around noon on Wednesday when he purportedly snatched a huge sum of money from a bank customer along Oba Adeshida road, Akure.
It took the intervention of Commercial cyclist operators popularly called Okada beside the bank to catch the fleeing hoodlum few kilometers away along Ilesa-Akure.express road.
As soon the victim cried for help shouting thief thief thief ,”ole ole ole” that the Okada riders took after the suspect who was riding recklessly against the traffic.
The victim was found running after the suspect on foot but for the prompt intervention of Okada riders who came back few minutes after the hot chase.
According to one of the good Samaritan who chased the suspect, he was caught while trying to change his dress to close his track.
However, mild drama ensued when the victim saw the fleeing robber face to face thinking that he could recover his N160,000 which he just collected with ATM card from the bank.
On the part of the Okada riders, who did not know what really transpired, they thought it was the motor cycle that was snatched from the man crying thief thief above his voice not knowing that it was money that was snatched.
As soon as mob gathered to do what could be described as “jungle justice”, men of the Nigeria Police from Okuta Elerinla Police station came to his rescue as they took both the man and his bike to the station.
