Dangote Group of Companies has donated to Nasarawa State Government a sum of fifty million Naira as support to compliment the state government’s effort in taking care of the internally displaced persons currently camping in the state as a result of the recent Fulani herdsmen invasion of some communities in Benue State.
Representing the Dangote Group, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule made it known that they were in the state to sympathize with the governor and the good people of Nasarawa state on behalf of the Alh. Aliko Dangote over all that had happened the in the State.
Engr. Sule tasked the people of the state to continue to live in peace stating that the Dangote family knows the importance of peace , co-existence harmony and the importance of people being able to live together, pointing out that only with peaceful co-existence would there be development and investors coming in to the state.
Engr. Sule stated that it was in line with their culture at Dangote to support government efforts as he presented a donation of fifty million Naira to Nasarawa State.
In his remarks Governor Tanko Almakura commended and appreciated the Dangote Group for their consistent support, care and collaboration with Nasarawa State, especially with the donation of fifty Million Naira to support the efforts of government; regretting that the unfortunate incident has let to the establishment of 12 Internally Displaced Persons camps which have 25000 persons seeking refuge in the various locations in the state.
“That at a time like this when one is faced with challenges that are so over whelming it is the time you will be able to realise your friends , associates and people who care for you”, he said.
He described their visit as a clear testimony that the Dangote Group is a caring and supportive conglomerate and a very good friend of the people of Nasarawa State , stating that the visit and the people on the delegation shows a lot about what Dangote thinks of the state.
The Governor requested they extend the appreciation of the people of Nasarawa State to Alh. Aliko Dangote who had earlier called to commiserate with him.
