It would be recalled that Kano State Government in collaboration with the initiators of the anchor borrower programme had planned to set-up a court that would be used to fully recover the money given to farmers across the state or prosecute those who fail to pay.
Responding on the repayment of the loan, the manager, Dambatta branch of Bank of Agriculture (BOA), Alhaji Aminu disclosed that some of the farmers have started repaying their loans in the the bank’s catchment area, where he assured that they remain committed to boosting agriculture through financial provision to farmers adding that the only challenges facing agric credit programme is inability of the farmers to repay what they collected which is a great obstacle in agricultural development in Nigeria.
