Cross River APC stakeholders

Stakeholders of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) in Cross River State, have called on the National Working Committee of the party to suspend the Minister of Niger Delta, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani for engaging in  anti-party activities since  the completion of primaries.
Addressing newsmen in Calabar yesterday, the stakeholders from the 18 local government areas of the state said ” we rose from a meeting and have reason to lamented the recent activities of Hon Minister, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani and his co-travellers especially on the recent interview he granted the Channels Television.”
Addressing journalists through its spokesman, Dr. Odigha Odigha, who read a prepared statement ‘ the group said ordinarily, we would not have been bothered, if not for some derogatory remarks against the National Chairman of our great party and his consistent attempt to misinform the general public about the state of affairs in our party in Cross River State”.
They added ” we are compelled by his recent peevishness to state that the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Pastor Usani Uguru Usani has taken his jokes too far, as we recall that in January this year, he was suspended by the then State Working Committee of our party in Cross River State”.
According to them, “the documents on his suspension was forwarded to the National Executive committee (NEC) detailing the numerous anti-party activities committed by him, including but not limited to summoning meetings and acting on behalf of the party without recourse to the constituted organ and authority of the party”.
Despite all these, they said “the current leadership of the party in the state had turned a blind eye to the suspension, thus allowing him to participate in the last primaries of the party without invoking that suspension”.
They called on the National leadership of the party to act on the said document, as that suspension has not been rescinded y the party leadership in Cross River State.
The statement also recalled “as if that is not enough, they have with impunity, instituted series of court actions against the party and it’s representatives without exhausting the internal mechanism for seeking redress as expressed in the letters of the Constitution of our party”.
They also accused him and his co-travellers of “recalcitrantly” sustaining parallel party organs across the entire state, thereby undermining the authority and decision of the National Organs of our great party”.
“The sustained attack on the public image of our party and distractors by Pastor Usani Uguru Usani, is unbecoming of a high-ranki g official of government who should live by example rather than stand in the way of the party’s progress, particularly to our victory”.
“For failing conduct himself like other aspirants to the exalted office of governor of Cross River state,.we are using this medium to prevail on the National leadership to sanction Pastor Usani and his co-travellers, so as to prevent the virus in them from festering beyond our control and dimming our electoral prospects, which is the fundamental basis for the existence of all political parties, globally”.
The document was duly signed by stakeholders from the 18 local government areas of the state.
