A High Court no 2 sitting at GRA Zaria has cancelled the appointment of the Kaduna State 77 District Heads and ordered all the former district heads to go back to their respective districts until the case is over.
The presiding Judge, Hon. Justice Kabir Dabo in his ruling on Wednesday said the governor has no constitutional rights to tamper with judicial matters despite notice served ordering that the issue of the district heads sacking is before the court but he went ahead to appoint the 77 district heads for lack of respecting the court order.
Justice Kabir said Governor Nasiru el-Rufai must respect and obey the court order on the district heads sacking.
The Court has adjourned the case to 16th January 2019 for the continuation of hearing.
In his comments on the ruling, the counsel to the plaintiff, Barrister Yemi Adekunle expressed happiness that the court has done justice by considering their application.
When contacted, the state counsel Barrister Abdurrahaman Suleiman Haladu refused to talk to the journalists on the ground that he was not authorized to talk to the press.
