Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Mohammed Gana on Tuesday charged officials of the Kebbi State Command on ethics and professionalism while discharging their civic duties.
He also warned them against collecting bribes from the culprits or people who report their cases to the state command.
Gana passed the warning when he addressed senior personnel at the command headquarters in Birnin Kebbi.
Represented by the Assistant Commandant General in charge of zone D, Mrs Abosede Mercy Isimi, the commandant urged the senior personnel to do all they could to maintain the status quo and bureaucracy in the command.
” You must be disciplined and ignore the taking of gifts from people looking for you assistance while on duty”.
“And at the same time ensure to protect your dignity and status in dealing with general public particularly senior citizens in the state.”
The commandant General also revealed that NSCDC intends to establish out- stations in all the 21 local government areas of Kebbi State as part of its efforts to beef-up security across the state.
He noted that soon the command will look all forms of promotions and outstanding performances by the personnel for possible effectiveness.
