The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Mrs. Nuratu Batagarawa has tasked the Defence related Industries of Nigeria on the need for closer collaboration amongst themselves.

 

She said this during the maiden meeting of Defence Related Industries in Nigeria held at the Ministry of Defence, Abuja.

According to her, the meeting of Defence Related Industries was aimed at translating the grouping together of this body in Defence Industries Association of Nigeria, adding that Nigeria is endowed with numerous indigenous industries that have made great achievements individually.

 

“A clear example was the exhibition of various Defence Related Industries equipment, gadgets on various platforms by our own industries during the Nigerian Army Day Celebration 2018 held at Monguno in Borno State”, she said.

 

She lamented that these indigenous related industries were not organise into an association in the nation to galvanised their various potentials and capacities which the individual industry and the nation ought to have benefited immensely from.

The Permanent Secretary further said that the establishment of Military Complex (MIC) for Nigeria with DICON as the epicentre to carter for the advance requirement of the nation’s Armed Forces and other security agencies, occupies the front burner position in the heart of the President, Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.
