Football Club Owners Association of Nigeria have congratulated the Nigeria Super Falcons on their victory over Cameroun at the just concluded AWCON championship where they emerged as African Champions.
A lone goal by Desire Oparanozie gave the Nigeria girls a late minute victory over the Lioness of Cameroun who were earlier tipped as favourites to win the trophy as the host nation.
Club owners in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Barr. Isaac Danladi and the Executive Secretary Alloy Chukwuemeka commended the commitment and efforts of the technical crew, players and officials of the team for their courage and superlative performance which earned them the victory over the host country.
The Association also charged the Victorious Falcons to see their victory as an honour and great service to their fatherland, just as it commended the Nigeria football Federation, NFF and the Federal Ministry of Sports and Youths Development for supporting the team to excel.
“Your domination of female football in Africa is a clear indication of your commitment and great efforts to excel even at the world level, we congratulate you and urge you to see your victory as an honor and service to your fatherland” the statement read in part.
Club Owners charged the NFF and the Sports Ministry to support the team to commence early preparation for the World Cup and to organize a special reception cum reward to honour and appreciate their efforts to serve as morale booster.
