The General Overseer of Hour of Salvation Church Triumphant Chapel International, Umuahia, Pastor Olarenwaju Olusegun Olaitan has advised Nigerians to stop making negative statements against the federal government.
He said Nigerians should exercise patience with the government and avoid speaking negative words to condemn the President and his team.
Olaitan who gave this advice during the 5th year Anniversary of the church in Umuahia said there is power of life and death in the tongue, so “Let us use our tongue to speak positive things for Nigeria believing that with God all will be well”.
He noted that Nigeria is passing through hard time economically and in the area of security too and expressed hope that God would intervene describing the situation as a global phenomenon that is not peculiar to Nigeria alone.
“The Public should continue to look on to God irrespective of what is happening in our society now. What we are passing through is not new and peculiar to Nigeria. It is a global thing”.
On the part of the church, the man of God said churches have been speaking on characters with a view to changing them from their evil ways. “Most bad people also go to Churches and by preaching to them, their mind would change. In our preaching, we emphasize against planning evils against others and looting of government treasury by public office holders”.
On the achievements of the Church five years after, the General Overseer said Hour of Salvation Church had impacted positively on lives. “Over 100 people have benefited from the Church, paying of school fees for many, hospital bills and feeding of the indigent apart from character reformation”.
Lending his voice, Pastor in charge Owerri, Imo State branch of the Church, Pastor Ben Duru thanked God for his mercies on the Church for the past five years and expressed hope that God will use him to develop the branch spiritually.
The Abia State Commissioner of Police, Habila Joshak who spoke to our correspondent after the event, commended the Church for its job in character reformation, pointing out that preaching the word of God will help to reshape the character of criminals.
He assured that Nigeria will overcome its present security challenges while warning criminals in Abia State to run away or face hard time.
The high point of the anniversary of Harvest of Grace was the ordination of Pastors, elders, Deacons and Deaconesses.
