In Kano State, Christmas has been  celebrated in a colourful and  peaceful manner despite the current economic hardship facing the country, where the Christians gathered in various places as usuall exchanging pleasantries with relatives and other well wishers.
Our correspondent who went round Sabon Gari area of Kano municipality, reported that all the places were given adequate protection by the security operatives, while the Christians were busy visityng friends and relatives  as a tradition.
Similarly,  all those who had a chat with NewNigerian said that this year’s Christmas was celebrated peacefully although there is no money at hands due to the global economic recession which affects almost every country where they  called on christians accross the country to use the Yuletide for  the promotion of peace and unity in Nigeria.
Mr. Nolus, a motorcycle dealer in Sabon Gari kyano told our corrrspondent that  “we are celebrating Christmas peacefully in Kano and we are very happy that all is well despite that money is scarce which is the main challenge facing this year’s Yuletide,” he stated.
All the places visited by NNN remained the same although there was tight security everywhere especially  around the churches and relevant  places of gathering.
