An APGA Governorship aspirant in Imo State, Hon. Uche Onyeagocha has called on the state House of Assembly to immediately impeach the state Governor, Rochas Okorocha.
The aspirant made the call in an official statement he issued in Owerri on Thursday in reaction to the recent nullification of the impeachment of the state Deputy Governor Prince Eze Madumere by an Owerri high court.
According to him, with the landmark judgment, the state House of Assembly should commence impeachment process on Governor Rochas Okorocha.
He said that his call became imperative now considering what he described as ” various mess” the governor has brought upon the people of the state.
Hon. Onyeagocha said that Governor Okorocha has continued to position himself as a grand despot and ruthless emperor trying to turn the state into his personal chattel pointing out that his excesses have assumed an alarming proportion.
In his words, “we are happy today that the court has nullified and declared as null and void Governor Okorocha sponsored impeachment of his deputy, Prince Eze Madumere
According to him, Imo people are now convinced that very soon he shall face the consequences of all impunity and some dubious financial transactions he has committed against the people of the state.
He further commended the industry of the court by standing on the side of truth and nullifying the sponsored impeachment of the state Deputy Governor stressing that this I’d indeed victory for democracy.
Hon. Onyeagocha congratulated the deputy governor for his resounding victory against Governor Okorocha’s brigandage and tyranny.
He therefore, called on the people of the state to persuade their representatives at the State Assembly to impeach Governor Rochas Okorocha with immediate effect.
