Bye election: APC still hold the ace in Oyo State – Ajimobi

Governor Abiola Ajimobi, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) still holds the ace in the state with its “best welfare package and comprehensive rural-urban development”.
The governor stated this in Igboho while speaking at a campaign rally organized by APC for its candidate in the Saturday’s by election into Oorelope State Constituency, Mr. Jimoh Gbadamosi.
He declared that the people of the constituency will gain more from voting for the ruling party than any opposition party hence the need for them to come out en masse and cast their votes for the ruling party’s candidate.
“It is logical and more profitable for the people to support the ruling party in any election in order to attract developmental projects from the federal and state governments. I, therefore, implore you to vote for our candidate to bring more development to Igboho and its environs” he said.
Governor Ajimobi added that “majority of those in the opposition parties during the 2015 general elections are already with us (APC),” saying, “for instance, former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, who used to be the leader of Labour Party in the state, is now with us along with his supporters.”
According to Governor Ajimobi, the Saturday election would further lend credence to APC’s strength and popularity, not only in the state but, in the country at large.
He however assured the people of the state that his administration would continue to consolidate on its various achievements in the last five years to better their lots.
The governor while assuring the constituents of sustained infrastructural development, described the APC candidate as an accomplished lawyer and young politician who would not disappoint them.
Speaking on the killing of late Hon Gideon Aremu by armed robbers, the governor who condemned the murder of Late Hon Aremu praised the police for apprehending the suspected killers.
He then commiserated with the people of Igboho in particular and those from Oorelope State Constituency who he said lost a shining star, gentleman and committed lawmaker, saying, “the death of Hon. Aremu is a sad occurrence because from all indications our state has outgrown incidences of violence and brigandage”.
“Let me again warn criminals to steer clear of this state, because the long arm of the law will always catch up with them. They can only run, but they can’t hide. The death of Hon. He was a very stoic legislator, a shining star and gentleman who had contributed immensely to the development of the state”.
