Buratai Urges Soldiers To Remain Proactive

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai has urged officers and soldiers of Chindit Cantonment Barracks, Zaria to remain proactive in the discharge of their responsibilities and assured them of getting their 2018 welfare packages.
Buratai was speaking at the West African Social Activities ( WASA) organised by the Chindit Cantonment Barracks which was held at the Depot Nigerian Army Parade ground at the weekend.
Represented by the GOC 1 Division, Major General Muhammed Muhammed, he observed that the officers and men as well as their families are in true with the rich tribal cultural prowess for which Nigeria is known for.
According to him, he was convinced that the aim of WASA which is to promote cultural harmony, team spirit and tolerance among military personnel has been achieved.
While commending the level of discipline and dedication to duty during the year 2017, the Army Chief charged them to remain focused and highly resilient to all forms of distractions especially now that the Nigerian Army is making all efforts to consolidate on the achievement it has so far recorded in all activities generated towards ensuring peace and stability across the country.
“I am aware of some of the challenges you are facing in the cantonment and I would like to reiterate that efforts of various formations and units of the entire Nigerian Army.”
Gen Buratai charged them to imbibe a maintainance culture in Chindit Cantonment and ensure proper maintenance of all projects.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Commandant, Depot Nigerian Army, Major Gen. Victor Ezugwu said the WASA is a long tradition that brings soldiers and their families together after a hectic regimentation activities.
He expressed gratitude to the COAS for his continuous support with funds and resources in good time to Depot NA.
 The Chindit Cantonment comprises of Depot NA, Army School of Physical Training, Directorate of Army Physical Training and Nigerian Military School.
