Beach Volleyball: Team Nigeria leaves for Morocco, upbeat on winning

By; JACOB ONJEWU DICKSON, Kaduna.
As Nigeria’s Beach Volleyball teams jet out to Morocco today, Coach of both teams, Charkuma Ismail has expressed confidence that they will have a good outing that will make Nigerians proud.
Speaking to New Nigerian Sports on phone yesterday, he said that his players are prepared psychologically and physically for the second phase of the African Continental Cup.
“Even though we had just little time to prepare, we are optimistic of an excellent outing. We didn’t get what we want because the sand at our courts at the Jabi Lake where we are camping in Abuja is bad, but my players are prepared physically and psychologically,” he said.
He explained that the courts exerted much pressure on his players because they have become muddy and requires urgent re-sanding.
Ismail appealed to the National Sports Commission (NSC), public spirited individuals and corporate organizations to support the team.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Nigeria Beach Volleyball, Engineer Musa Nimrod would not be accompanying the team on the trip because he has been bereaved of a sibling, New Nigerian Sports has gathered.
The African Continental Cup is part of the qualification process for the Rio 2016 Olympics. Eight players would be representing Nigeria; four male and four female.
