Bauchi sets up forensic audit committee to probe Yuguda’s tenure

The Bauchi State Government has set up a high-powered committee to undertake a forensic audit of all contracts, expenditure and appointments made in state ministries, departments and agencies from May 2007 to May 2015.
A statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Abubakar al-Sadique, said the committee which membership number is not given is under the chairmanship of Alhaji Salihu Lukman.
According to the statement, the committee’s appointment to undertake the forensic auditing is based on Governor Mohammed Abubakar administration’s resolve to instill accountability and discipline as pre-requisite for good governance.
It noted that corruption had eaten deep into the nation’s socio-economic and political life when Governor Mohammed Abubakar assumed the mantle of leadership in Bauchi state, saying the APC administration in the state will not relent in the fight against corruption in public life until sanity is restored to the fullest.
