Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade, has approved the decentralization of the operations of Cross River State Water Board to make the sub-stations self-accounting and ensure efficiency in service delivery.
The sub-stations affected include Akamkpa, Calabar, Ikom, Itigidi, Obubra, Obudu, Ogoja, Okpoma and Ugep/Ediba.
A statement signed by the acting Managing Director of Water Board, Dr. Stephen Odey, said the order is in line with His Excellency directives.
The arw Akamkpa Water Board, Edwin Asuquo,.Calabar Water Board, Barr. Bassey Mensah,Ikom Water Board, Mr. Joseph Abeng and Itigidi Water Board, Engr. Bassey Echemi, Obubra Water Board, Hon. Kingsley Okpah.
Others are,.Obudu Water Board, Mr. Mike Ojie,Ogoja Water Board,.Chief Igbaji Monkom,Okpoma Water Board and Ogar Emmanuel Ojugbo, Ugep/Ediba Water Board, Hon. Osong Etowa
According to him, “the general managers are to meet with the Acting Managing Director for briefing on 19th June, 2018,.at the Conference Room of the CRS Water Board, Calabar.
It would be recalled that Water Board was not functioning until the recent posting of Dr. Odey to manage the corporation.
Water was like gold whever the taps runs in most parts of the state.capital.
This was one of legacies that the Donald Duke led administration left behind.
It is hoped that this ongoing reorganisation will yield the needed result as far as water is concerned in both the state capital and other urban towns in the state.
Mainwhile, some.residents have greeted the handiwork of Dr Odey within the few months he took over the mantle of leadership of the Cross River State Water Board.
