APC Governorship Aspirant Consults Party Leader, Vows To Move Delta To Greater Heights

Just as the 2019 general election gathers momentum and the governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC), draws closer, a frontline gubernatorial aspirant, Barr (Engr.) Victor Ochei, has consulted with the leader of the party, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, assuring party faithful of his believe of clinching the party’s ticket.

Ochei, who took to his twitter and Facebook pages Tuesday, said he consulted with Olorogun Emerhor, to seek his blessings ahead of the primaries which would produce him as the governorship flag-bearer of the party to wrestle power from the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), come 2019.

He also disclosed that his consultation visit to the party’s leader was bore out of the fact that Emerhor is a strong power rotation evangelist who supports power rotation among the three senatorial districts of the state.

Ochei, a former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly whose legacies are yet to be outlived by successive Speakers said, Delta north should be allowed to complete the last four years with an APC governor at the saddle to take Delta from the monopoly of the current PDP government, adding that he has all it takes to move the state forward.

Hear him: “As the gubernatorial primaries of my party, APC draws closer; I sought the blessings of our dear leader Olorogun O’Tega Emerhor and leaders of the party. He has given me a platform and has been an ardent supporter of the principle of power rotation among the senatorial districts. It is only right Delta north complete its remaining four year tenure, with an APC governor at the helm of affairs to rescue Delta state from the stranglehold of the present administration. I understand the political, ethnic and administrative dynamics to move Delta to greater heights”.

In same vein, Ochei, has discussed with the people of Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency, where he hinted that he would replicate his prowess during his Speakership reign to the governance of the state when he resume as governor of the state.

“Today, I conferred with the good people of Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency. My achievement as an erstwhile speaker of the Delta state house of assembly did not take as much as two years, because I had a visionary blueprint of what I needed to do. And that is what I will reenact if I emerge as the governor of Delta state, come 2019”.

Similarly, the governorship hopeful has stormed Delta Central to hold talks with APC stalwarts in the region in his determination to build a new Delta based on equity and justice.

“In furtherance of my desire to offer progressive governance to Deltans, I continued my consultation with APC faithful in the unflinching belief that governance is about the people. This time around, I traversed every local government in the Delta Central senatorial district.

“Again, since the people reserve the right to choose a governorship candidate, I can’t shy away from fraternizing with them, because a “General” that cannot meet and feel free with his troops lacks the basic leadership prerequisite.

“My desire to build a new Delta is premised on justice and equity in all ramifications. As such, the Delta North senatorial district must complete its remaining four-year quota and it follows that an APC governor of Delta North extraction will mount the governorship saddle come 2019”.

He said his vision and mission of offering progressive governance to Deltans got a further boost, as he returned his duly filled expression of interest and nomination forms for the office of the governor of Delta state in 2019 at the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress, Abuja.

“This desire to serve is anchored on altruistic premises where our common patrimony won’t be the exclusive preserve of a few to the detriment of the many. It is an ideal which, I had continually nourished and sustained, by an implicit belief that the improved living standard of the polity is the veritable essence of governance. Let’s collectively believe and uphold these ideals, as they form the bases of progress”, he said.

According to him, “The much awaited move to reposition Delta state on the path of purposive governance has taken a step of faith, to challenge the hitherto poor leadership and absence of political will, in deploying the instrumentality of governance rightly, to the benefit of the people.

“Hence, my resolve to run for the office of Governor of Delta state in 2019, necessitated consultation visits to relevant stakeholders and party faithful in Isoko North and South local government areas, Wednesday 5th of September, 2018.

“Undoubtedly, this change we seek begins with choosing the right candidate at the forthcoming Gubernatorial Primaries of our great party the All Progressives Congress (A P C). And my emergence as the standard bearer of the party will be a sure step towards the actualization of this change, which is, bringing about goal oriented governance”.
