Ahead of the 2019 general elections, Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla of Adamawa State has tasked stakeholders and members of the ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC) on the need to work in unison for the party to succeed.
Bindow who made the call at a harmonised stakeholders meeting held at the Banquet Hall of Government House Yola, tendered an unreserved apology to the stakeholders of APC for his shortcomings in steering the administrative affairs of the state in the last three years.
“Please forgive me if I have offended you in the course of my duties even though simplicity is not stupidity”, he stated.
The governor swore that he has no any personal interests talk less of backing any candidate contesting for any position in the state Executives of the party for upcoming party congresses in the state slated for Saturday.
“I have no candidate in this coming congress and if any body presents any name or list on my behalf, he is on his own, I already directed the state
party to ensure these congresses are conducted in a free and fair manner, all interested candidates should be given levelled playing ground “, Bindow affirmed.
Earlier in his address, National Vice Chairman in charge of North East, Comrade Mustapha Salihu expressed delight over the harmonised meeting saying it was the beginning of a good outing for the party in the state.
Salihu told stakeholders that the congresses will be conducted on an option A 4 platform where delegates will line up behind their preferred candidates.
