Amosun Signs 2018 Budget Of N343.9 Billion Into Law

The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has signed into law the 2018 Budget of N343.9 Billion after it was presented to him by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Suraj Ishola Adekunbi.   

Amosun signed the bill into law at the Governor’s office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta in the presence of the Speaker, Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga, Honourable members and some members of the State Executive Council.     

The budget had been reduced by N1.4 billion from the initial N345.4 billion earlier presented to the House by the Governor.      

Speaking after giving assent to the Appropriation Bill, Governor Amosun thanked the leadership of the House for working round the clock to ensure speedy passage.     

The Governor disclosed that “without the budget in place, it may be difficult for us to re-strategize on our rebuilding mission,” adding that the House had done its part in supporting the administration while he also commended the Judiciary for its complementary roles.

Governor Amosun stressed that the budget was aimed at accelerating ongoing developmental projects in order to consolidate on the achievements of the previous yeas.

He expressed optimism that more dividends of democracy awaits the people of the state in 2018 as his administration was poised at improving the living condition of the people.
