All is set for Edo guber election with over 50,000 security personel

All is now set for the September 27, 2016 gubernatorial election with 19 governorship candidates participating in tomorrow’s election.
Over 50,000 security personnel made up of 25,000 policemen, 20,000 officers and men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, 1,900 military personnel, officials of the Department of State Security, members of the Immigration Service and officials of Federal Road Safety Commission.
Security forces in their thousands on Monday moved round some major streets in the three senatorial districts in the state to demonstrate to the public, their preparedness to combat security threats before, during and after the election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it is fully set to conduct the gubernatorial election.
According to INEC’s Public Relations Officer and Public Enlightenment, Edo State, Mrs. Priscilla Imondu-Sule, the commission has taken full delivery of all the sensitive and non-sensitive materials for the election.
Edo state government had declared Tuesday as public holiday to enable eligible voters travel to their voting centres to perform their franchise.
Meanwhile, the security forces which have placed a restriction order on movement on Wednesday, said the state will be locked down from 1am to 6pm on Wednesday.
So far, everywhere in the state is calm and everybody is going about his or her business peaceful.
