Al-Makura aide doles out N1 million to widows, orphans, others

A total of one hundred persons made up of widows, orphans, youths and the physically challenged at the weekend benefited from the one million naira empowerment venture courtesy of Hajiya Hajarat Danyaro, the Special Adviser to  Nasarawa state governor, Umaru Al-Makura on Inter-party relations.
Christened Widows, orphans and youth empowerment scheme (WOYES), the beneficiaries were drawn from the seven wards of Nasarawa Local Government Area and got about ten thousand naira each.
Speaking at the occasion, the Special Adviser, Hajarat Dogonyaro said “the source of finance for this scheme has been savings from my salary since assumption of office” as special adviser about ten months ago which was an indication of how much interest of the people she has at heart.
According to her, since the inception the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) administration in the state, emphasis has been made to ensure the empowerment of the populace, saying that it was in line with that I embark on same course’
While calling on the beneficiaries to prudently manage the little they got, Dogonyaro noted that the take off grants that would enable beneficiaries under the scheme to start a business of their choice.
She then called on all well meaning people to assist the less fortunate in the society, particularly the physically challenged saying that until we do such our society will not prosper.
She commended Governor Almakura for his giant strides which is transforming the state despite the lean resources and called on all to rally round and support him for more development.
