Agwatyap’s demise a great shock – Reps Katung

Member, representing Jaba/Zangon Kataf Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Barrister Sunday Marshal Katung, has described the death of the paramount ruler of Atyap in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, The Agwatyap, His Royal Highness, Dr. Harrison Yusuf Bungwon as a great shock.
Hon. Katung in a statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Saturday also commiserated with the Atyap traditional council and the people of Kaduna State.
The late First Class chief aged 67 years had been on the throne since 2005.
The statement said, “He devoted his life to the progress of his people in the areas of agriculture, education and socio economic development of Atyap people and Kaduna State as a whole.
“The late Agwatyap was well known for his promotion of peaceful coexistence of the people irrespective of their religion and where they come from. The Chief would therefore be remembered for his wisdom, tolerance, love for peace and agricultural development in Kaduna State. The North has lost one of its respected and revered royal fathers.
“On behalf of the constituency, I therefore commiserate with the royal family of the Atyap traditional council, the government and the good people of Kaduna State over the passing of HRH Dr.  Harrison Yusuf Bungwon.
“I pray that God grant the late Chief eternal peace in Heaven.”
In the same vein, the Atyap traditional council had said that the late traditional ruler would be buried on Friday, 15th April, 2016 in the Chief’s palace in Zangon Kataf.
Mr. Jacob Zango in a statement on Saturday in Kaduna said the the remains of late Dr. Harrison Yusuf Bungwon would leave St. Gérard Catholic Hospital, Kakuri, Kaduna on Friday, 15th April,  2016 for final interment.
