The Adamawa State Ministry of Health in conjunction with state Primary Health Care Development Agency and other Health partners have commenced a week long immunisation exercise.
The exercise is part of the activities line up to mark the African Vaccination week (AVW) in the state.
The Commissioner of Health ,Dr.Fatima Atiku Abubakar, who declared the programme said the Vaccination exercise is an annual occasion being celebrated in the month of April across Africa for enhancing immunisation programmes.
She said the AYW is to strengthen immunisation programmes and to increase awareness of the importance of every person’s especially children and women need and right to be protected from vaccine-preventable diseases.
Abubakar stated that it also aimed at delivery of other high impact lifesaving interventions.
