The Adamawa State Government has empowered 10,050 youth in various skills acquisition In an effort to ameliorate the sufferings of youth.
Governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla, who stated this at a ceremony to distribute starter packs to youth held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Yola, said the state government would empower 10,000 youth through Special Assistant program.
Represented by Deputy Governor Martins Babale, he stressed that this would be done through the office of Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation in the state.
While flagging off the distribution of starter packs equipment to benefiting youth, Babale said the Bindow-led administration is concerned about youth and urged them to make proper use of the skills acquired.
Speaking, the state Coordinator of Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation of the state government, Alhaji Ayuba Audu explained that other category of six hundred and forty Youths have received special training on tricycle repair in collaboration with Simba company.
He said the state government in partnership with Industrial Traning Fund trained five hundred youths special skills training in electronic appliances, aluminum fabrication while hundreds of women were also trained in weaving.
Alhaji Audu stressed that the state government have also collaborated Google to give two thousand five hundred and seventy five Youths on electronic commerce, online buying and selling of competitive products on the internet.
He revealed that the Governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla led administration had also extended the gesture to one hundred and seventy nine Internally Displaced Persons in the State out of which only thirty nine of them are from Adamawa state.
